Last-mile delivery company Gordon is expanding with more and more home deliveries of refrigerated food and medicine. This has resulted in Gordon moving its distribution center for southeast Sweden to larger premises in Växjö.
– We have the opportunity to continue growing here. This allows us at Gordon to take on new customer assignments and improve our service for those we already collaborate with, says Ali Ghoce, CEO of Gordon.
At the distribution center in Växjö, Gordon sorts and coordinates 20 000 home deliveries monthly from food box companies and grocery stores.
– We outgrew the previous distribution center, says Kami Rajabi, District Manager for Gordon's distribution centers in southern Sweden and Copenhagen.
The previous distribution center was located in Älghult, Uppvidinge municipality, 60 kilometres northeast of Växjö. Our new distribution center covers 850 m2, of which 50 m2 is frozen space, while the rest is refrigerated. This makes it easier for Gordon to handle all its chilled deliveries in an unbroken, refrigerated, frozen chain.
From the distribution center in Växjö, Gordon coordinates home deliveries to customers in southeastern Småland and Blekinge ready-made food boxes from several companies, such as HelloFresh, Middagsfrid, Svarta lådan, and GI-boxen.
In 2022, Gordon received many new assignments from grocery stores and food producers who wanted to expand their online sales.
– The new distribution center allows us to offer our services to more people in southeast Sweden, says Ali Ghoce.
Gordon plans for a more significant proportion of home deliveries to people in southern Sweden to be handled at the distribution center in Växjö.
– This reduces the amount of transportation and creates more efficient routes, says Kami Rajabi.
