Gordon at the Nordic Grocery Store Expo 2025

At the Nordic Grocery Store Expo, Ali Ghoce presented his vision for the future of online commerce. With a focus on sustainability and profitability, he described how Gordon's platform can meet both the challenges facing the industry and create new opportunities.

Online grocery shopping has grown rapidly over the past decade, from almost non-existent in 2015 to a turnover of SEK 17 billion in Sweden in 2024. But this growth has not been without problems. Low margins, large shopping baskets and high temperature control requirements make logistics significantly more complex than in other e-commerce.

At the same time, Ali emphasised that the industry is not only facing challenges, but also great opportunities:

"It is possible to make online business profitable. There are solutions out there, so be curious and explore!"

When asked to summarise the future of the grocery trade, he replied:

"One is great, the sector will grow a lot. The other is convenient, it's an incredibly nice service for customers."

After his presentation, Ali looked forward to meeting colleagues and industry people from across the sector on the exhibition floor, one of the highlights of the Nordic Grocery Store Expo.
