Farmasiet och Gordon först i Norge med kylda hemleveranser

Norway's largest online pharmacy Farmasiet continues its mission to revolutionise the Norwegian pharmacy market by partnering with last mile company Gordon. This means that diabetes and migraine patients, among others, can finally have vital medicines delivered to their homes.
"With Gordon, we can help a large group of patients who may find the journey to the pharmacy challenging," says Ane Wisløff-Høgestøl, Logistics Manager at Farmasiet.

With Gordon as a delivery partner, Farmasiet can meet the demands of patients treated for chronic conditions such as diabetes and migraine, a customer group that relies on temperature-sensitive medicines.

"We are constantly looking for ways to solve problems for our customers, and they have long requested home deliveries of refrigerated medicines. With our partnership with Gordon, we can help a large group of patients who may find the journey to the pharmacy challenging," says Ane Wisløff-Høgestøl, Logistics Manager at Farmasiet.

The first deliveries will hit the roads in Eastern Norway on 28 April, and the plan is to eventually make the service available nationwide.

"We are very proud of the trust and the opportunity to deliver vital medicines to the homes of Norwegians. We also look forward to further developing the offering and customer experience across the country," says Ali Ghoce, CEO of Gordon.

Gordon - which delivers medicines in Sweden, Denmark and now Norway - has a terminal infrastructure and fleet of vehicles fully adapted for temperature-controlled home deliveries. To meet the special requirements that come with handling medicines, the logistics flow is integrated with a digital quality management system. Here, drivers are certified and monitored in areas such as GDP (Good Distribution Practice - legislation for the distribution of medicines).

Wisløff-Høgestøl at Farmasiet says that quality was a crucial factor in the choice of partner.

"Gordon has good experience after many years of similar deliveries in Sweden, and quality and safety are particularly important in this case. Therefore, they were a natural partner to ensure this," says Wisløff-Høgestøl.
