Chilled medicines can now be delivered to your home - Apopro and Gordon in new partnership

Apopro, Denmark's largest online pharmacy, is launching a new partnership with last mile company Gordon to make it easier to get medicines delivered to the home. With the new partnership, all Danes can order medicines that require refrigerated storage online and have them delivered directly to their door - safely and securely.

Together with Gordon, they are Apopro the first pharmacy to offer home delivery of medicines in an unbroken temperature-controlled cold chain across Denmark.

"In the past, home delivery of refrigerated medicines has been so expensive that it has not been an option for many. But together with Gordon, we can offer a safe and accessible home delivery solution for everyone," says Tine Vestergaard, pharmacist at Apopro.

Gordon is the Nordic leader in last mile delivery of temperature-controlled goods, covering most of the Nordic market with a reach of 19 million end customers.

"Unlike many other last mile players, we are not limited to delivering in big cities, but reach over 99 % of all inhabitants in Denmark. It feels good to work with Apopro to offer a service that makes everyday life easier for many people," says Ali Ghoce, CEO of Gordon. 

Advanced quality management ensures safe home deliveries

Gordon's terminal infrastructure and vehicle fleet are fully customised for temperature-controlled home deliveries. To fulfil the specific requirements for handling pharmaceuticals, the logistics flow is integrated with a digital quality management system. The traffic management system uses temperature sensors to monitor the temperature of the vehicles in real time and act immediately if a problem occurs.

"Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for our customers to access all their medicines, including those that require refrigerated storage. With Gordon, we have a partner that both our customers and we as a pharmacy can feel safe with," says Tine Vestergaard.
