Sweden's first circular system for chilled home deliveries - Gordon Circular - presented at Transportforum 2025
On 15-16 January, the transport and infrastructure industry gathered in Linköping for this year's edition of Transportforum. Gordon was there to talk about its work with Gordon Circular - Sweden's first circular system with reusable packaging for chilled home deliveries.
Transport Forum 2025 is a unique meeting place where stakeholders from across the transport sector can share knowledge and experiences. With this year's theme "circularity and resilience", the conference offered two days filled with inspiring lectures, panel discussions and exciting presentations. Gordon was therefore particularly proud to contribute to the discussion on how we can create a more circular and sustainable future.
Transport Forum 2025: Circular flows and transport
During the session "Circular flows and transport", Gordon's CEO, Ali Ghoce, presented the concept of Gordon Circular. He also highlighted concrete examples of how circular solutions can create value for both customers and the climate.
- The public sector has a big role to play in society, but resources are often limited. By working together across sectors, we want to show that it is possible to combine sustainability and efficiency in a way that benefits everyone in the long run," says Ali.
Gordon Circular - The road to climate-neutral e-commerce
Gordon Circular is a pioneering solution that replaces disposable packaging for e-commerce deliveries with a circular system. The packaging is returned, washed and made ready for new deliveries. It is a solution that not only reduces waste, but also helps save resources.
At the moment Gordon runs a Vinnova-funded project together with Jönköping Municipality, Coop Väst and Samhall AB to develop Gordon Circular for the public sector. The project initially focuses on elderly care and aims to create a scalable system that can also be used in schools and hospitals.
Circular packaging could revolutionise the logistics industry
Claes Hessel, project manager for Circular at Gordon and former e-commerce manager for Coop Online and responsible for Apotek Hjärtat's e-commerce, also participated in the discussions. He shared his thoughts on how circular packaging can revolutionise the logistics industry.
- "Circularity is not just about creating new flows, but also about optimising the ones we already have. By combining first and last mile transport, we can create a more sustainable whole and at the same time give our customers a better experience," says Claes.
