Kødhuset partners with Gordon for temperature controlled transport - reduces carbon footprint per package delivered by 75 per cent  

Leading meat supplier Kødhuset has chosen Gordon as its delivery partner. In April, the company will switch from a passive cold chain with polystyrene boxes and refrigerants to Gordon's active cold chain, where temperature-controlled deliveries reduce the carbon footprint and increase food safety.

Kødhuset supplies high quality Danish meat cuts to restaurants, caterers and private individuals throughout Denmark. To ensure that all deliveries maintain a consistent temperature, they are now switching to Gordon's active cold chain, where all terminals are refrigerated and the entire fleet consists of refrigerated vehicles. This allows the abattoir to replace polystyrene insulation boxes and cooling agents such as ice with standard cardboard boxes, reducing the carbon dioxide equivalent per parcel delivered by 75%. With Gordon's HotBot temperature monitoring system, dispatchers can monitor vehicle temperatures in real time and take immediate action if a problem arise.
