Last mile company Gordon is Sweden's eighth fastest growing tech company and the fastest growing tech company in logistics. This is clear when the consulting firm Deloitte has presented its list Sweden Technology Fast 50.
- "At Gordon, we have succeeded in developing a digital platform and coordinated logistics solutions that allow supermarkets, grocery retailers and food producers to efficiently reach their customers with chilled home deliveries," says Ali Ghoce, Gordon's CEO and founder.
The accounting consultants at Deloitte in Sweden have compared the net sales of Swedish tech companies between 2018 and 2021. During this time, Gordon's net sales have increased from SEK 18.6 to 413.7 million. This represents an increase of 3,350 per cent and growth will continue in 2022. This year, it looks as if net sales will increase by just over 40 per cent compared to 2021.
- We have strong growth because we are in a growing industry. This is particularly true of orders for ready-made grocery bags. An increasing number of grocery bag companies are choosing to work with us because they know that Gordon guarantees an unbroken cold chain from their production facilities to their customers' homes," says Mr Ghoce.
Ali Ghoce and Per Källgården started Gordon in 2015 in Stockholm. They packed their own grocery bags and developed the digital platform that is now the foundation of their business in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland. In October this year, the company reached its highest turnover ever and also exceeded 600,000 deliveries in one month for the first time. It is now looking to start up operations in the UK.
Today, Gordon employs around 65 people and assigns between 600 and 800 drivers in the Nordic region over the course of a month.
- We continue to be unique in being able to offer quality-assured refrigerated transport to almost all residents in Sweden and Denmark. In Norway and Finland, about half the population is reached. This means that many companies selling food can reach a lot of potential customers," says Ali Ghoce.
But it is not only growth that is important to Gordon. The aim is to offer coordinated, efficient and sustainable deliveries with good working conditions for drivers. That's why Gordon is investing in new electric vehicles and working to develop a circular system where today's food deliveries in cardboard boxes and paper bags are replaced with outer packaging that is reusable.
